As the name suggests, the Alpenpanorama-Weg leads between the Alps in the south and the Lowlands in the north.
From Rorschach to Geneva it crosses Switzerland from East to West, or the other way arround (as we did it).
Most of the route runs through the agricultural foothills of the Alps, where dairy farming is traditionally practised.
Cows on the pasture and cheese dishes in the mountain inns are two omnipresent companions on the Alpine Panorama Trail.
It is only at Lac Léman (Lavaux, La Côte) that wine culture dominates. A glass of Chasselas is worth it!
Would we do it? Yes!
Would we do it again? Yes!
Hint: If you want to do it, do it in spring or autumn. Summers are too hot to hike on this route.
On the "Schweizmobil" page you find all the details.
